My Mission & Values
Spirit Warrior Ministries
It all started in 1997 with a biker patch.
My husband, Joe, had sketched a biker sitting on a motorcycle. I believe the picture had a sword in the biker’s hand, and a bloody head of a demon rolling on the ground.
His friend, Mike, thought the sketch was really good, so he borrowed it, took it to the embroidery shop and turned it into an iron-on patch.
They quickly started their own Christian biker club; we had about ten members, if you include us wives. We often ran with Gathering Place Angels, and other Christian bikers in the NW Arkansas area over the next two years. We had about 50 Christian bikers between all the groups. We would all hop on the bikes and go to cool places and talk about Jesus to strangers, to everyone. They took Road Trip to mean Mission Trip.
We did a lot of weekend Road Trips, rallies, blues festivals, camping.
It was a fun experience for me.
We would go camping several times a year and have Christian biker rallies with interesting guest speakers, or special musicians. We even had a Christian Artist from Eureka Springs who was locally famous for sculpting the head of Jesus from a block of wood; while telling the Passion Story. And yes of course, they would always have a handful of people at these events, either getting saved or wanting to know more about Jesus Christ.
We mostly had middle aged church people who enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson, or Honda motorcycles on the weekends. Some of them were women who drove their own bike, which I thought was impressive. A few of these bikers in attendance were even from 1% outlaw biker gangs too; some of the people attending our events were ex-cons, or born-again ex-cons; and we even had an old lady biker, she was 85 years old and usually riding her Goldwing trike. We had an interesting mix of people that we were hanging out with, sharing the Love of Jesus with all of them who had ears to hear about our dear Lord Jesus. You would be surprised who all had ears to hear the gospel.
Everyone needs JESUS!
Mike and Joe, they just loved everyone, and their hearts were mostly in the right place. They loved their motorcycles, but they loved Jesus so much more.
I wanted a ministry name that would reflect the fact that we are Christian Soldiers.
We are in a heated battle for life and death. Most people will die and go to hell.
People will perish if we don’t reach them.
So, I feel this name, SPIRIT WARRIORS, does actively proclaim our True Mission: To fulfil the Great Commission. To Spread the Good News of the Gospel.
To freely give the Love of Jesus to all people.
This name, I feel also honors my husband, Joe, and his dear friend Mike.
Especially since they both did the work of evangelizing a very ignored and marginalized segment of the population.
My husband had one simple mission statement, “Love the Unlovely!”
He always said that he was called by Jesus to simply Love the Unlovely.
Honestly, it is not every church that can start a biker ministry, or go visit prisoners in prison, and minister to hardened criminals- and even make room in our MC group for an old granny in her leather boots and well-worn jacket, riding an Indian that was older than most of us.
Joe and Mike have both since gone on to Heaven now.
I do treasure our memories.
They are greatly missed!
So yeah, if you are wondering – I am not starting a biker ministry!
However, it was being involved with my husband in the biker outreach ministry that taught me to love other people the way Jesus loves them. I did some of my most meaningful evangelism on our “Road Trips” – Mission Trips.
My blog, this website is an online community of people from all across the United States, and maybe other countries eventually too. I found that talking about Jesus to other people makes my heart feel compassionate. I really do have a heart for lost souls.
I know that I would like to win billions of people to Christ Jesus before I die.
I also know that planting good seed in the good soil produces good fruit.
And the more good fruit that is sown, the more hungry people can be fed.
If from my small seeds, many good trees are planted, that is so much more good fruit being harvested than from just one tree.
WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST!
None of us are put here on earth to be an isolationist. We all were born for fellowship.
We were all born with a need to be loved.
God is Love.
What are the FRUITS of the SPIRIT?
Galatians 5:22-23 KJV
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
If we all work together in the body of Christ on planet earth, there is no reason that One Billion Souls can’t be saved in the next few years. But we all need to cultivate the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is OUR LOVE that will win the lost to Jesus.
Our own heart is desperately wicked – and we are all sinners. We must eat of the tree that produces the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. We must all realize that if we all lived for the purpose of glorifying God, we would all be blessed, healthy
Values – My Values. Well, I am still working on them. I am a sinner who sins daily. This website and blog will even help me to become a more holy Christian. I believe becoming holy is a virtue we should all strive for. Our daily lives should look holy to the world. We should have some fruits that the world does not have.
